We got to spend our New Year at Snowbird for the seventh year running, and the second year with Matilda. She had a much better time this year than she did last year, and Steve and I got to spend a couple of days relaxing. It was actually fairly warm in comparison to what it should have been, so it wasn't too horrible walking to dinner and taking a swim in the outdoor heated pool. I know the latter sounds crazy, but Tildy is a water bug, and it's tough to discourage her once she's in a swimming suit and near water. Furthermore, her Dad does nothing to discourage her. They spent some good times at the pool, and I'm pretty sure she woke up several rooms full of hungover New Year's partiers on the first. Oh well, she was having a great time.
Matilda is also addicted to the iPad that her Dad gave her for her first birthday. This addiction extends to the Kindle Fire and iPhone. Basically, she loves any device that we'll let her watch YouTube on. We've restricted her viewing to Sesame Street clips and videos of babies laughing, but she will watch them FOREVER. At Snowbird we finally capitalized on her little problem, and actually got to enjoy a meal together as a family. Not my proudest Mom moment, but one of the more relaxing meals out I've had in a while.
